COVID-19 STUDIO PILATES INFORMATION
COMMITMENT TO OUR SAFETY
I am passionate about delivering the highest quality client experience and providing a clean and safe environment. The below outlines my enhanced plan for the reopening of Physio led Pilates sessions in the studio. I will be reviewing and updating the plan and my ways of working on a regular basis in line with the latest Government and regulatory bodies guidance.
The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) has published guidelines on recommencing Physio led in-person studio Pilates. I have implemented these measures to ensure the utmost diligence to these guidelines and to promote safer client care.
- Risk assessment and health screening
A full risk assessment and health screen will be completed for each client before they can attend in-person studio sessions and I will make you aware of any risks associated with this face to face approach. You will be asked to complete a specific consent form detailing this.
If you have had any of the following symptoms of COVID-19 within the last 21 days or knowingly been in contact with anyone with these symptoms, please do not come to the studio.
- a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back.
- a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual).
- a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal.
If you have tested positive for COVID-19, or have knowingly come into close contact with someone who has, we ask that you do not come to the clinic or studio for 14 days.
As air travel significantly increases the risk of contracting and transmitting the COVID-19 virus please do not attend the clinic if you travelled outside of the United Kingdom in the past 14 days.
If you feel unwell or have any concerns about coming in, please stay home and stay safe.
- No contact booking and payment system
All sessions will be pre-booked in blocks electronically before the course starts. Clients will have access to a virtual class or recording if they are unable to attend the session.
- Ongoing deep cleaning process
All small shared equipment will be removed from the studio for the time being. Mats will be provided however clients are welcome to bring their own mat if they would prefer. Clients will be asked to bring their own rehabilitation equipment including head block and resistance bands to the sessions.
Regular deep cleaning of the room will continue. Any equipment that is used must be wipeable and will be disinfected between each session. The floor and high touch surfaces such as door handles, light switches and handrails will be cleaned following each session.
- Staggered session times
All studio classes will be staggered 30 minutes apart. The time is used to clean and disinfect the room, and equipment. The studio will also be well ventilated during this break. This will also prevent interaction between other clients and ensure the communal spaces are free to navigate between sessions.
- Personal protective equipment
As I will be maintaining a 2m distance from all clients for the duration of the session I will not be using any PPE during the session. This will mean that whilst I will be able to offer verbal cues and corrections during the session, I will be unable to offer any hands-on feedback.
As per government and professional body regulations I will wear gloves, masks and a disposable apron whilst taking your temperature at the beginning of the session. Gloves and apron will be changed after each client is screened. You will be asked to wear a face covering whilst waiting outside and moving around the studio, before and after the session but you will not be required to wear any face covering during the session.
- Arrival protocol
All clients attending the studio will be asked to arrive 10 minutes before the start of the session and remain outside (maintaining a 2m distance from other people who are not in their household) until they are invited to enter the studio.
You will not be allowed the join the session if you arrive late.
I will take your temperature when you arrive for your session using an infra-red contactless thermometer. If your temperature is over 37.5 degrees celsius you will not be allowed to enter the studio for your session.
You will be asked to sanitise your hands when entering the studio. Please go straight to your space and make sure to practice social distancing when in the studio.
Please do not bring any additional bags or equipment into the studio with you.
Toilet facilities are available but please avoid using them if possible.
Minimising your contact with surfaces such as door handles is preferable.
- Maintaining a safe distance during the session
The studio will only safely accommodate 5-6 clients and the instructor. Mats will be spaced 2m from each other and I will guide you to your allocated space at the beginning of the session. You must ensure that you are not facing another client but again I will guide you on your positioning throughout the session. If you need to move from your space during the session then please maintain a safe distance from other clients and I would encourage you to wear a face covering.
- Live streaming of the session
The Physio led Pilates sessions will be streamed via Zoom at the same time as the in-person studio session. I will endeavour to only record myself however this may not always be possible.
And finally….
I understand that all of these measures can seem overwhelming and confusing at first however once your session starts, I am confident that you will find yourself in a safe and relaxing environment, and I am looking forward to seeing in the studio again. Thank you for your understanding and support.
