So here it is… my first ever blog! And I thought it would make sense to tell you a bit about myself and the company.

My name is Claire. I am wife to Rick and Mum to Annalise who is nearly 4 years old. I was born and raised in Hong Kong but I have lived in Manchester since coming over here to study Physiotherapy in 1998.

I have been a Physiotherapist for 17 years now and have decided to set up my own business so that I can be more flexible to my own family needs but also to the needs of my patients as we all have different but hectic lifestyles. I felt that after all of these years I had the experience and confidence to run my own business without the support of a large company set up. I have previously been part of a management team so I know what needs to be done to deliver an excellent physiotherapy service to patients!

I am based at clinic locations in Sale, Cheadle and Bowden and I offer assessment and treatment of Musculoskeletal and sports injuries as well as Pregnancy and post-natal issues (I now offer the Mummy MOT). I want my sessions to be relaxed and you will find that I am very approachable and understanding of issues and limitations for injury rehabilitation (not everyone can get to the gym every day!). I always treat the problem rather than just the symptoms so that it is less likely for symptoms to recur. I will always explain what is causing pain or dysfunction in terms that my patients understand as I believe it is really important for them to understand what is happening and why they need to carry on with their exercises or self-management techniques. I have a very hands on approach to treatment and I am also trained in acupuncture and Pilates

My favourite types of exercise are yoga and Pilates and I use a lot of these exercises in my patient rehabilitation. I also love running especially since I had my daughter as it gives me some ‘me’ time and helps me to really clear my mind and relax. I am also quite the fan of Gin, Chocolate (not necessarily together!) and going on holiday!
